You are looking at one of nature’s most inspiring sights- a total solar eclipse. The path where the moon completely covered the sun and its atmosphere stretched from Oregon to South Carolina. Those of us outside the path got to see a partial solar eclipse where the moon covers part of the sun’s disk. Take a look at these incredible photos from Gadsden showing the partial eclipse. Benny McNair captured these images this afternoon near Noccalula Falls. McNair used a Canon digital DSLR camera attached to a Meade LX200 8 inch telescope with an attached solar filter. And as you can see the coverage was at ninety something percent.
