U.S. Senator Luther Strange and challenger Roy Moore are set to face each other in a candidate’s forum before next month’s Republican runoff. The event is scheduled to take place on the campus of Samford University in Birmingham on September 21. Samford is partnering with the Alabama Policy Institute to host the political forum. The event is free and open to the public. People can submit suggested questions using the hashtag #AskAL. Tickets may be reserved at AlabamaPolicy.org/Forum. Strange and Moore are seeking the Senate seat previously held by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Strange was appointed to the post on an interim basis. Moore is the state’s former chief justice. He resigned to seek the Senate seat after being suspended for the remainder of his term. The Republican runoff is September 26. The winner will face Democrat Doug Jones in December.
