Jacksonville State University begins a new program to train respiratory therapists. The five semester program will train students to treat people with breathing disorders. The program was in development for three years before beginning this semester. JSU Respiratory Director Ed Goodwin says adding the program is important because the field is growing so quickly. The program is part of the university's School of Health and Wellness, and trains students in everything from how to properly wash their hands to passing the credentials exam needed to practice respiratory therapy.
