Business leaders and employees are heading back to class today in Anniston.Leadership Calhoun County is a program that aims to teach local businesses about what Calhoun County has to offer, as well as where it can improve. The Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce runs the program that takes local business employees on tours of the county and introduces them to local government leaders. Chamber of Commerce Programs Director Krychelle Smith says the class meets once a month, and each meeting has a specific theme, such as healthcare day, or small business day. The first day of class focused on team building. Smith says the exercises are a fun way to let the students get to know each other. The class is made up of employees from local businesses, the City of Anniston, and more. Class members are excited about the networking opportunities the class offers. Today’s class featured exercises such as trust falls, rope courses, and more. The course takes ten months to compete, and Smith says it helps to build a stronger relationship between local businesses.
