The people of Gadsden work together to help out Rosenberg Texas. The City of Rosenberg, which is about the same size as Gadsden, experienced record flooding and was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. The City of Gadsden adopted Rosenberg and decided to help out the city by sending supplies. The Humane Society is in charge of sending pet supplies to the disaster-stricken community. While the Humane Society initially aimed to help pet owners in shelters, they discovered that two animal shelters in Rosenberg were still operating. Now, the humane society is gathering food, blankets, and crates for owned pets in human shelters and also gathering much needed medical supplies for the animal shelters. Pet Rescue and Adoption Center Executive Director Christi Brown says they had a great turnout of donations at a supply drive today. Gadsden Public Library director Amanda Jackson says the library is gathering school supplies to help kids get back into the school routine. Jackson says the library is also partnering with local schools to gather supplies such as notebooks, pens, and more. Anyone wanting to donate school supplies can drop them off at any Gadsden library location.
