President Donald Trump plans to visit Alabama to support Senator Luther Strange’s bid to keep the seat he was appointed to after Jeff Sessions became U.S. Attorney General. President Trump tweeted over the weekend, “I will be in Huntsville, Alabama, on Saturday night to support Luther Strange for Senate. ‘Big Luther’ is a great guy who gets things done!” Strange has been forced into a tight race with Roy Moore, despite the backing of the President, and millions in advertising dollars from allies of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Strange and Moore face off in a Republican runoff on September 26. The winner will face Democrat Doug Jones in December.
