Duo Arrested for Interference with Custody

Tuesday, September 26, 2017

Two Etowah County residents are behind bars in connection to interference with custody. Travis Talton allowed a 17-year-old run away girl to stay with him at his home on Highway 411 in Gadsden. He was arrested and released the same day. Only hours later, after the teenager was returned to her legal guardian, Talton picked her up again to smoke methamphetamine. He was arrested a second time and is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center without bond.  According to investigators, the runaway’s mother, Brandi Bigbee, was also living with Talton on Highway 411 and smoked methamphetamine with the girl. Bigbee is charged with interference with custody and chemical endangerment of a child. She is being held on an $18,000 bond. As a condition of her bond, Bigbee is not allowed to have any contact with the girl.
