Joint Task Force Mounts Operation in DeKalb County

Several law enforcement departments join together in a drug eradication effort in DeKalb County. DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Drug and Major Crimes Unit, Fort Payne Police, and Geraldine Police joined forces with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Alabama National Guard Counter Drug Unit to do a helicopter search throughout the county. The effort uncovered a stolen truck covered with tree branches and more than 1500 marijuana plants. According to the Federal Government, each mature plant is worth about $2,000.
