A Gadsden couple is facing drug trafficking and possession charges. Oxford police gave the Etowah County sheriff’s office a tip about a suspicious package on September 22nd. Investigators say Danny and Lori Short were expecting the package that contained oxycodone, hydrocodone and carisoprodol pills, all of which are controlled substances, and require a prescription. The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a controlled delivery of the package to the home on Lakepoint Drive in Gadsden. Law enforcement recovered the package along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Investigators believe numerous packages of controlled substances have been delivered to the home over the last several months. Lori and Danny Short are charged with trafficking oxycodone, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
