The son of an Alabama Senate candidate is arrested in connection to a case from last November. Etowah County Sheriff’s Office Communications Director Natalie Barton says Caleb Moore turned himself in on Monday and was later released on bond. Moore is the son of Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore.
The younger Moore was arrested last year on the misdemeanor charges of hunting without permission and hunting over bait. Moore turned himself in yesterday after the Court Clerk’s Office issued a warrant because the landowner signed a trespassing warrant against him.
Roy Moore issued a statement today calling his son’s arrest “...a cheap political trick... which has nothing to do with the campaign”. Moore will face Democrat Doug Jones in a special election for the US Senate on December 12th.
