A Gadsden woman is behind bars on several charges following a chase spanning two counties. A Cherokee County investigator says during a traffic stop, Traci St. John spoke with him for a few minutes before speeding off, nearly hitting him with her vehicle.
The investigator followed St. John up Highway 68 where several other officers and deputies joined in the chase. The chase continued into DeKalb County on County Road 176 at a high speed. St. John lost control of her vehicle on DeKalb County Road 55.
She was arrested and is charged with attempting to elude, reckless driving and several others. She is being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $7,000 bond.
