A ribbon cutting for an organization that shelters our four legged friends. Rainbow City Animal Shelter opens its doors to a new building that will be a temporary home for dogs and cats before they find their forever homes.
Rainbow City elected last year to build the shelter, rather than continue to negotiate a contract with vets or other agencies to take in animals. Rainbow City Animal Control Director Andrea Willet says it is an exciting day for these animals.
Willet says they started taking in animals at the beginning of October. They will be spayed or neutered before being adopted. The shelter can house 150 animals and can provide treatment for minor health problems. All pets adopted from the shelter will be microchipped. To adopt your new best friend just head over to 4450 Steel Station Road in Rainbow City.
