Salvation Army Beginning Prep for Christmas Angel Trees

It may be only be the middle of October but Christmas is right around the corner. The Salvation Army and Christmas Clearing House are taking applications for underprivileged families who might need a little help buying gifts this holiday season.

Families that apply will have children’s names placed on an Angel Tree. These trees will be set out all over Calhoun, Clay, Cleburne and Talladega Counties. When you pick a name off the tree it will have information about that child; gender, age, and clothing size. Corps Officer Eric Roberts says there are plenty of way to participate.

Families can fill out an application at The Bridge, right across from Zinn Park in Anniston. When filling out an application you must have a picture ID, Proof of Residence, Proof of Income, Proof of all bills that are paid on monthly basis and Social Security Card. The application deadline is this Friday at 1p.m.
