JSU Opens Children's Corner in Houston Cole Library

Thursday, October 26, 2017

A new place for children to enjoy reading a book is now open to the public. Jacksonville State University’s Houston Cole Library now has a Children’s Corner on the 5th floor. The Children’s Reading Room is a dynamic, colorful facility designed to foster a love of literature and reading, and to promote literacy among children. JSU Library Dean John-Bauer Graham says you don’t have to be quiet in this library.

Graham says the purpose is to promote an appreciation of the importance of the library as a center of academic life. In addition to weekly read-aloud nights the facility will host book readings and signings by children’s authors and illustrators, community speakers, and more.
