When the investigator ran the tag on the vehicle it came back expired. He tried to stop the vehicle but Helms continued at a high speed through a parking lot at the Huddle House and Wendy’s in Centre, almost hitting several people. Helms managed to get back onto Highway 411 where the chase continued into Leesburg and onto Highway 273, where speeds reached 120 miles per hour.
