Two Fatal Wrecks in Calhoun County

A single-car accident claims the life of a Piedmont woman. Donna Boozer was killed when her car left the roadway on Nisbet Lake Road and hit a tree. She was not wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash happened two miles North of Jacksonville.

In a separate incident, a three-vehicle wreck on I-20 westbound leaves a 32-year-old Oxford man dead. An Alabama Law Enforcement Agency report says the crash occurred near mile marker 184, about one mile West of Oxford. The preliminary investigation shows that a Volvo and a commercial truck were stopped in traffic when a Honda, driven by Matthew Goodwin, hit the Volvo’s trailer and collided with the rear of the commercial truck. Goodwin was pronounced dead at the scene.
