Search Warrant Leads to an Arrest in Gadsden


A Gadsden man faces several charges in connection to drug distribution. Etowah County DEU Deputy Commander Phil Sims says agents went to the house of Dewendell Crook on Kyle Avenue in Gadsden with a search warrant. While they searched the home they found a .38 caliber handgun in the living room along with digital scales and other drug paraphernalia.

Crook has a prior felony conviction and is not allowed to have a firearm. He is charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a fire arm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Crook was taken to the Etowah County Detention Center where he is held on a $30,000 cash bond.
