Man Involved in Recent Death of a Jacksonville Man is Arrested

Thursday, November 2, 2017

A man involved in a theft that led to a Jacksonville man’s death is in custody. Calhoun County deputies have been searching for Reagan Kenny after he and James Hooper tried to steal a trailer from a business on Highway 431 on October 21st.

The trailer disconnected from the truck they were using to steal it, so the two men left the trailer on the highway. Moments later, 34-year old Adam Harris ran into the trailer and died from injuries caused by the collision. Hooper was taken into custody a few days later, but Kenny managed to escape.

Earlier today, deputies located Kenney while doing an aerial search of the Choccolocco Wildlife Management Area. He was spotted driving an all terrain vehicle with a woman on the back. Calhoun County Chief Deputy Jon Garlick says that deputies caught the man after a short chase.

Garlick says that the District Attorney’s office is still working to determine the exact charges against Kenney.
