A call about a possible drunk driver sparked a chase involving Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies. Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver says deputies received a call of Amanda Stovall being intoxicated in the parking lot of the Noah Baptist Church. Stovall was gone by the time deputies arrived at the church.
Another deputy saw Stovall driving and tried to stop her, but she continued driving to her home on County Road 16. Stovall resisted arrest and while the deputy was placing her under arrest, she started running. After a short chase, Stovall was arrested. She is charged with DUI, Attempting to Elude, Resisting Arrest and an existing Failure to Appear Warrant.
