Gadsden Fire Department Collecting Toys

A local fire department is collecting toys and donations in an effort to give a Merry Christmas to children in need. The Gadsden Fire Department is accepting unwrapped toy donations from now until December 22nd.

The Toys from Santa Program gives under-privileged families the opportunity to give their children something meaningful. Last year, the fire department helped 300 Etowah County children have a Merry Christmas. City of Gadsden Fire Chief Steve Carroll says monetary donations are given to the parents for a special shopping trip.

Chief Carroll says the parents are grateful to have the chance to provide their children with toys for Christmas. Chief Carroll also says this program is a great way to remind people what the holidays are truly about. All donations can be taken to any Gadsden Fire Station.
