Calhoun County YMCA Finishes Upgrades

Thursday, November 16, 2017

An upgrade for a organization that is more than just a place to workout is finished. The remodel of the Downtown Branch for the Calhoun County YMCA is complete. The project began back in August as soon as summer camps were over.

The renovations were made possible through capital donors. Calhoun County YMCA President and CEO Shane Ruffin says it’s a blessing to be able to give the YMCA a new look.

Along with the new cardio equipment Ruffin says they have rebuilt some of the floors and given the building a new roof. The YMCA also has new hallway flooring and a new main lobby. Ruffin says that with the holidays right around the corner it is the perfect time to join and enjoy the new equipment.

The YMCA will offer programs for children during the holidays when schools are out and parents still have to work. For families that may need a little extra help with payment, scholarships are available.
