People from all over turned out for an annual ceremony in Anniston to honor late war veterans from different countries. The German-Italian Cemetery at McClellan is where 26 German and three Italian World War II soldiers were laid to rest.
Every year for the past four decades a group comes together and pays tribute to the former prisoners of war. Italian Lt. Col. Bruno Pagnaelli says the ceremony is meaningful for many.
German Lt. Col. Tim Doescher says the ceremony is more than a normal memorial.
During the memorial, both the German and Italian flag were represented along with a playing of the traditional taps.
