Jacksonville Woman Charged with Felony Child Endangerment
A Jacksonville woman faces felony charges in connection to chemical endangerment of a child. Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says Amber Ward tested positive for Benzodiazepines and amphetamines. Benzodiazepines is more commonly known as a “date rape” drug.
Ward’s baby also tested positive for Benzodiazepines, amphetamines and marijuana. She is being held at the Etowah County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond. As a condition of her bond, she must successfully complete a drug treatment program. The Calhoun County Department of Human Resources is involved with the case as well.
