An ex-white house official will campaign for embattled senatorial candidate Roy Moore next week. Steve Bannon will join Moore at a rally on Sunday. The former white house chief strategist will hit the campaign trail one week ahead of the vote in Alabama’s U.S. Senate race.
Moore faces Democrat Doug Jones in a special election for Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ former seat. His campaign has struggled in the wake of allegations by multiple women that he pursed them sexually as teenagers, including one woman who was 14-years-old at the time. Moore has denied all accusations.
Bannon was among Moore’s prominent cheerleaders during the heated Republican primary runoff, and it seems he will be a key surrogate to join Moore in the campaign’s final days. The special election is on December 12th.
