Gov. Ivey Announces Early Learning Program Grant
Governor Ivey announces a grant to help expand the state’s Pre-K through Third Grade Integrated Approach to Early Learning program. Ivey says the W.K. Kellogg Foundation is awarding the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education with a 1.5 million dollar grant.
Ivey says “Ensuring that our children receive a high-quality, early childhood education is a key component to my ‘Smart Start, Strong Finish’ initiative.” The Pre-K through Third Grade Integrated Approach to Early Learning program is a joint effort of the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education, Alabama State Department of Education, and the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools to improve student achievement by improving collaboration among educators in early elementary school grades.
