Some unique training helps teach one community about the importance of recycling. A team at Gadsden Recycling recently participated in a training course hosted by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
During the class, Environmental Services Superintendent Howell Mathews and Recycling Coordinator Tommy Yates learned about all aspects of recycling operations. The men were in a group of 20 people chosen from throught the State of Alabama to attend. Yates says recycling is something everyone can do.
Yates also says that recycling is not only great for the environment, but it’s also a great way to save money. The City of Gadsden operates a recycling center at 306 Henry Street. Anyone can drop-off at any time and everyone is welcome.
