Southside Police Officers Charged with Rape

Two former police officers are behind bars in connection to a rape investigation.
Southside Police Chief Chris Jones says the department received information that Officers Brian Walker and Jon Works were involved in criminal misconduct.

 

 An investigation began by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Bureau of Investigations and the officers were placed on administrative leave. On November 21st both officers resigned from their positions.The investigation was presented to an Etowah County Grand Jury last week. Walker and Works were then arrested. 

 

The former officers are being held in the Etowah County Detention Center and are charged with first degree rape.
