A city council approves a fund to help pay for unexpected needs. The Piedmont City council will create an emergency reserve fund to help with unexpected equipment needs. Council Member Doug Dickeson presented the idea to the council saying, the city is in dire need for such a fund, as there have been difficulties in the past when it comes to replacing equipment and vehicles needed to maintain city services.
The council agreed with a seven to one vote.Ten-thousand dollars of the city’s utility revenue each month will be set aside, beginning January 1st. The funds collected will only be used for emergency purchases or repairs with council approval.
