Anniston Army Depot Helps Families for Christmas

The Anniston Army Depot is helping hundreds of families this Christmas. Every year, Depot employees buy and donate toys for underprivileged children. This year, they collected enough toys for two-hundred children. Once all the toys and bikes are collected, they deliver them to the Calhoun County Department of Human Resources.

Depot and DHR employees create an assembly line to unload the 37-hundred pounds of gifts. Depot Employee Bernadette Isaac has been participating in this event for three years.

The depot not only donates toys for children, but they also give money to help families who are need. Calhoun County DHR Enterim Director Marsha Busby says some families use what little money they do have to buy gifts for their children instead of paying bills.
