Recall on Jack Brown Produce Apples

An apple a day usually keeps the doctor away, but not in this case. The FDA is recalling a popular apple. Jack Brown Produce is recalling Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp and Golden Delicious apples processed and shipped by Nyblad Orchards on December 11 through December 16.

These apples have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections. The potentially-affected apples can be identified by the numbers printed on the bag.

The company is urging customers who have purchased this apples under the brand name “Apple Ridge” to throw them away and contact Jack Brown Produce Inc. for a full refund.
