Thursday, January 4, 2018

Some Jacksonville students are getting an extended holiday break due to a fire sprinkler incident. The Jacksonville school system announced a fire alarm went off Tuesday around 1:45pm at Kitty Stone Elementary School.

The sprinklers went off, flooding the music room along with the the fourth and fifth grade areas. A Jacksonville firefighter said there was no fire damage to the school, but there was extensive water damage.

All Jacksonville city schools will remain closed this week and resume a normal operating schedule on Monday, January 8th.
