Two Women Arrested for Chemical Endangerment Charges

Two women are behind bars in Etowah County in connection to chemical endangerment of children. Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says Brittany Bolan is charged with exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed.

An investigator says Bolan admitted to illegally using drugs while pregnant and tested positive for Suboxone and methamphetamine.

In a separate case, Sheriff Entrekin says Amber Phipps admitted and tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana while pregnant.

Both women are being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bonds. As a condition of their bond, they each must successfully complete a drug treatment program and will be supervised by Etowah Community Corrections once they are released.
