Police are investigating a shooting and a stabbing that happened at the Walmart in Jacksonville. Officers were called Wednesday evening about a man suffering from a gunshot wound outside Walmart. When they got to the scene, officers found a 43 year-old man near the garden center. He was taken to Jacksonville Regional Medical Center and later flown to UAB.

Police say a second victim involved in the shooting arrived at the Jacksonville RMC Emergency Room suffering from what appeared to be a knife or stab wound. Police Chief Tommy Thompson explains what they have determined so far.

Chief Thompson says the 43 year-old man underwent surgery last night, but his condition is unknown. The second victim was taken to the Jacksonville City Jail for a 72 hour hold. The names of the victims are not being released at this time.
