A local facility gets ready to continue training after being suspended for hazardous agents and biologicals. The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Center for Domestic Preparedness will resume using live nerve agents and biologicals in some of its hazardous materials training courses.
In 2016, the CDP suspended the use of several nerve agents after it was discovered the Center’s Chemical, Ordnance, Biological, and Radiological training facility had received toxic versions of the agents. CDP Acting Superintendent Tony Russell says the main focus is safety.
CDP has continued to conduct hazardous material training at the COBRA facility without live agents. The training will continue on Thursday, January 11th.
