An investigation into a false prescription leads police in a pursuit across state lines. Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver says investigators were watching Michael King as a possible suspect in obtaining false prescriptions.

On Thursday, an investigator noticed the vehicle King used was occupied by Quantez Johnson. When the investigator approached the vehicle, Johnson took off. The chase ended when Johnson crashed into a fence near Coosa, Georgia. Johnson was taken to the Floyd County jail. He is charged with felony damage to property.

He will later be taken to Cherokee County, where he faces attempting to elude. King was taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
