Alabama gets its first ‘C’ on a report card. The grade was released during the Alabama Board of Education’s work session. The 79 out of 100 possible points was given for the K-12 2016-2017 school year.

Governor Kay Ivey says there is no question that the quality of the state’s education system needs improvement and says she is committed to doing so. The grades are based on student and school-based measures.
