A state prison inmate serving time for a crime in Etowah County is back in custody after escaping. On January 10th Jonah Salers walked away from the Loxley Work Release Center in Baldwin county. Salers was captured by DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday at 6:30pm.
He was found in a stolen vehicle on County Road 328 in Albertville. Salers was arrested without incident and taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center. He will be charged with escape and theft of property. He is serving a four year sentence on a 2016 burglary conviction in Etowah County.
