There aren’t many people who can say they have been with the same company for several decades, but one woman is celebrating this milestone. Deb Hooks has been a Loan Officer at Family Savings Credit Union for 40 years.
Before finding her way to Family Savings, Hooks worked at Holy Name of Jesus Hospital as a desk clerk. One day a church friend and manager of Family Savings, Harold Daniel asked Hooks if she would be interested in working as a teller.
At only 19 years-old Hooks took the job. Since then she has held four different positions, enjoying each one and the challenges it brought. Hooks says the time has flown by.
Hooks says that when she first started everything was handwritten, including receipts and withdrawal slips. She says Fridays were her favorite because they were so hectic. Hooks says the one job she is looking forward to most will come in March when she becomes a grandmother.
