An organization is looking for people to help monitor water temperatures on the Coosa River. The Coosa Riverkeeper is asking people who live on the Coosa River to check the river temperatures once a week during February, March, and April. The process only takes about five minutes and a thermometer and instructions will be supplied through the mail.
People who submit enough temperature data will receive a Coosa Riverkeeper koozie, hat, or shirt. The data gathered will be used for a new Temp Track component to the Fish Guide program. The Fish Guide Temp Track will let people visit the website and see recent temperatures on the lakes.
If you are interested, e-mail Riverkeeper Frank Chitwood with the address or location you’d be willing to test from, with the subject line “Temp Track.”
