Danny Horn Hired As Central Clay County Head Football Coach

A familiar name is returning to a familiar place. Hall of Fame head coach Danny Horn has left his post at Benjamin Russell and will take over as head coach at Central Clay County High School.

Horn was approved by the Clay County Board of Education on Tuesday. Horn spent the last nine seasons at Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City where he won 62 games and made seven playoff appearances. Before his time with the Wildcats, he carved out a hall of fame career at Clay County High School. He led the Panthers for 20 seasons and racked up a 225-40 record and six state championships. In 2012, Clay County High School merged with Lineville High to make Central High School of Clay County. He takes over for Kris Herron who led the Volunteers for the last five seasons.
