Governor Kay Ivey signs into law Senate Bill 98. The bill gives counties the authority to reduce property taxes for certain projects that qualify for incentives under the Alabama Jobs Act.
The bill comes as part of the local incentives package for the Toyota-Mazda plant being built in Limestone County. Senator Arthur Orr and Representative Danny Crawford sponsored the bill which allows Limestone County to offer tax abatements for the plant.
Representative Crawford says “the Toyota-Mazda plant is one of the largest economic development projects in our state’s history.”
