Police Shoot Out with Suspect in Boaz

Drug Task Force Agents exchange shots with an Etowah County man. Sheriff Todd Entrekin and Boaz Police Chief Josh Gaskin say the Etowah County Drug Task Force agents were attempting to serve a warrant at Arnold Battles’ home in Boaz. 

 

 When officers arrived at the home at 100 Pleasant Grove Cutoff this morning, Battles began shooting. Two Boaz officers fired back as others attempted to breach the door Battles was shooting through. 

 

Sheriff Entrekin says they had been watching Battles for some time.Sheriff Entrekin says the Boaz officers saved a lot of lives. Battles was being served a warrant in connection to the distribution of methamphetamine. 

 

The Oxford Police Department will investigate the incident along with Jacksonville State’s Centre for Applied Forensic Science.
