Gadsden Celebrates New Community Center

A groundbreaking ceremony has people looking to the future. The City of Gadsden celebrates the beginning of a new Community Center in East Gadsden. The construction is expected to take one year to complete. The new facility will be built behind the current Community Center.

Gadsden City Council President and District two Representative Deverick Williams says the new Community Center will bring people together. Williams also says the Community Center will bring more activity to Gadsden including basketball tournaments.

Once the new center is open, the old building will be torn down to create a larger parking lot. Williams says they are expecting everyone in the community to visit the center often.
