A Sheriff’s Office recognizes deputies who traveled to North Dakota to assist with last year’s pipeline protests. Six Etowah County deputies assisted the Morton County Sheriff’s Office during the North Dakota Access Pipeline protest last February.
Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier sent out a message to Sheriffs across the country asking for help. Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin relayed the message to several Etowah County deputies including Captain Jason Argo.
Argo says once they heard that help was needed, they headed to North Dakota that day. The deputies were only in Morton County for a few weeks, but their help was very much appreciated. Sheriff Kirchmeier sent the deputies a plaque thanking them for their hard work and courageous actions.
