An annual party to raise money for a downtown landmark is happening this weekend. Downtown Gadsden will host the 6th annual Party with a Purpose at the Pitman. This family friendly event will raise money to go towards continued renovations for the historic Pitman Theater. Downtown Gadsden Incorporated Director Kay Moore says every bit helps.
With the generous donations of businesses, organizations and sponsors, The theatre's antique marquee was recently renovated thanks to donations from businesses, organizations, individuals and sponsors. Doors open at 2:30 pm and music kicks off at 3 pm with Kings of Swing. Then, at about 4:15, Rick and Tad will take the stage to close the show.
Everyone is invited to bring coolers and snacks and enjoy the music. The concert is free and donations will be accepted.
