The ARC of Calhoun and Cleburne County Gets Proclamation

An organization that focuses on helping people with disabilities gets a little help from the community. The ARC of Calhoun and Cleburne County was presented with a proclamation at the Calhoun County Commission Meeting.

The ARC serves those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. March is Developmental Disability Awareness Month, and Calhoun County is doing what they can to help with upcoming events. The ARC’s Executive Director Tammy Moreno says every little bit helps. The ARC has several events planned for March, including the Special Olympics on March 13th at Jacksonville High School.

Moreno says The Special Olympics is a day that athletes from ages 8 to 21 can enjoy track and field events. If you are interested in helping their cause, you can visit their main office on Noble Street.
