In the wake of a deadly mass school shooting, lawmakers propose to raise the minimum age to purchase firearms. A teenager killed 17 people in a Florida school last week after buying an AR-15.
Alabama Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh says, to him it's only common sense that people have to be deemed mature to certain things. Another bill being considered is to allow teachers to carry handguns in schools.
Marsh says it is unlikely either bill could win final approval before lawmakers conclude the current session.
