House of Representatives Approves Bill Toward Alabama Dog Owners

Thursday, March 1, 2018

Alabama dog owners could face harsh fines or even prison time if their animal injures or kills someone.

The House of Representatives has given final approval on a bill that will hold the owner of a dangerous dog accountable and restrain or euthanize the animal if it commits an attack.

Senator Steve Livingston named and sponsored the bill “Emily’s Law” after Emily Colvins was attacked and killed by a pack of dogs outside her home this past December.
