Friday, March 2, 2018

Take a look at the damage caused by a storm that lasted just minutes in the city of Jacksonville this morning. The fast-moving storm left many people without power for hours while scrambling to clean up the mess. A band of thunderstorms moved across East Alabama this morning.

High winds and heavy rain sent trees and power lines toppling on Mountain Street in Jacksonville. Damage to homes left several people looking for temporary shelter. We met two Jacksonville State University students who are looking at the positive.

Emergency response crews worked for hours to clear the roads of debris. EMA Officer Myles Chamblee is advising everyone to be patient. Chamblee says anytime you see a power line down, you should assume that it’s live, for your safety.
