Weaver County Officials Will Hold Meeting for School Safety

Tuesday, March 6, 2018

The city of Weaver is set to hold a meeting with county officials to reassure residents that the town is prepared to respond in the case of a school shooter. Weaver Mayor Wayne Willis, Calhoun County Superintendent Joe Dyar, and several others will attend the meeting tomorrow night at the Weaver City Meeting Center.

With recent school shootings and local students making threats, Mayor Willis says he expects the meeting to be very productive and put parents' minds at ease. Willis says that the children’s safety is top priority and there is a plan in the event of an active shooter situation.
